Laurens, IA (KICD)--An area bank sale has been announced.

Iowa Trust & Savings Bank has sold their Laurens location to the West Iowa Bank in West Bend.

West Iowa Bank President Martin Jacobs stated that there will be no staff changes at the Laurens location, and he anticipates new growth in the Laurens market with additional staffing in the future. Iowa Trust & Savings Bank President & CEO Kris Ausborn noted the transaction "allows both the buyer and seller opportunities to expand and focus strategic business efforts where the management of each organization deems it best." Neither Ausborn or Jacobs were available for immediate comment.

West Iowa Bank plans to be operational at the Laurens location around May 1st and will be in contact with Laurens area Iowa Trust customers prior to the switch. The Laurens location represents $15 million in deposits.

West Iowa Bank was founded in 1926 and has remained under the same ownership since that time. Additional locations are in West Bend, Algona, Fenton, and Bode.
