The Clay County Sheriff's Office were called to the home of Lori Heying in reference to a possible suicidal subject. Heying was not home when Deputies arrived and were told by her ex-boyfriend that he lost contact with her by cell phone around 9:50 p.m..
Authorities arrived to find a 2003 Ford Explorer Heying was driving on its passenger side facing northeast. Deputies found Heying seatbelted in the driver seat in which they cut and secured Heying.
It was determined that Heying was heading south in the 4600 mile of 240th Ave. and purposely struck the east side of the bridge, rolling the SUV onto its passenger side.
Heying was transported to the Spencer Hospital to be treated. Damage to the bridge was estimated at $35,000.
Agencies assisting include Webb Fire and Rescue, the Clay County Engineers Office, Bud's Service and the Spencer Hospital.
This accident is currently under investigation and charges for Operating While Intoxicated are pending blood test results.
