Spencer, IA (KICD)--People at the Spencer Hospital want to see a lot of red on Friday.
Hospital spokeswoman Susan Zulk says this year they want both men and women to wear red to raise awarness about the serious risk of heart disease in America.
Don't be surprised if your school age children bring some information home for you to think about. Zulk says they hope to have flyers in the schools in Spencer for students to bring home. There are a number of risk factors that can be controlled -- like good and bad cholesterol, staying active and monitoring blood sugar if you have diabetes.
. Managing stress, watching your triglycerides and limiting alcohol intake are other tips from the experts to limit heart disease risk.
