Around 4:30 Saturday afternoon, the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a utility terrain vehicle
(UTV) accident, at the intersection of Fig Avenue and 300th Street, one mile northeast of Rock Valley.
13-year old Kassie Johnson of Rock Valley was driving a 2011 Roketa side by side UTV westbound on 300th Street. She attempted to make a left turn onto Fig Avenue where she lost control and rolled the UTV onto its passenger side.
Johnson received minor injuries but did not seek medical attention. Two passengers, 14-year old Taylar Van Otterloo of George, and 14-year old Madison Zeutenhorst of Rock Valley were transported to Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley by the Rock Valley Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.
The Roketa sustained approximately $500 in damages. Johnson was issued a citation for illegal operation of an all terrain vehicle on the roadway.
Assisting at the scene was the Rock Valley Police Department.
