T-Bone Accident

Arnolds Park, IA (KICD)--A two van T-bone accident caused by icy conditions in Arnolds Park this morning sends an Everly woman to the hospital.

Arnolds Park Police Chief Alan Krueger says the accident took place shortly before 8:00 this (Thursday) morning on Highway 71 and Dam Road at the curve in front of Oak Hill Marina. Elizabeth Laidig of Everly lost control of her 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan when she was T-boned by a 2005 Ford RIDES van driven by Leon Hansen of Spirit Lake.

Laidig was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare by their ambulance crew with non-incapacitating injuries. Hansen and a passenger escaped unharmed. Laidig's van was totaled with the RIDES van's damage estimate at $4,500.

Krueger says the accident was caused by Laidig going too fast for the conditions around the corner.
