Scale Up Funding

Spencer, IA (KICD)--Schools and organizations in the region have an opportunity to apply for scale up funding.

Northwest Iowa STEM hub coordinator Kari Webb lays out the basics for KICD News.

Webb says the statewide STEM committee has identified a dozen programs that will bring hands on, inquiry based science programs into the classroom

On a related note, Dr. Mark Zabawa, (W sounds like a V) an Iowa Lakes Community College Science Instructor who serves on the regional STEM advisory board, says they have a number of course offerings available to help in the STEM mold.

Zabawa stresses the importance of filling STEM related jobs.

Visit the Iowa Lakes Community College website for more info on classes and to find an application for scale up funding.  The deadline to apply for the first round of scale up grant funding is September 14th.
