The Sac City Police responded to a burglary report on November 12th, in the 500 block of North 12th Street, in Sac City. Investigating officers found that someone had broken into the home and taken a steel safe, weighing approximately 600 lbs, which was later found in an undisclosed location. The safe had been pried open and left empty. More than $10,000 in cash was gone, police said.
On Monday, the four men were arrested after a search warrant served at an apartment in the 600 block of Park Avenue turned up more than $5,000 worth of new merchandise.
Arrested was 20-year old Andrew Thomas Jr. and 18-year old Daniel Rangel, both of Sac City, along with 19-year old Austin Stadler, of Nemaha, and 20-year old Troy Tuggle, of Early. All were arrested on felony charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief.
Stadler posted bond and was released from Sac County Jail on Tuesday. The other three remained in custody.
