Remsen, IA (KICD) -- Two teens were injured after a single vehicle accident in icy conditions.
The Plymouth County Sheriffs Office says the accident occurred Saturday, as 18-year old Jacob Pierce of Remsen was driving on County Road L-14, when he encountered a cow on the road.
Pierce swerved to avoid the cow, losing control of his 1992 pickup,on the ice-covered road. The pickup then rolled several times, landing on it's side.
Pierce suffered non-incapacitating injuries, and was able to get out of the truck, and also removed a passenger, 17-year old Briana Livermore, of LeMars, who siffered capacitating injuries. Both were taken to Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, by the Remsen Ambulance. The pickup waas totalled in the accident..
