Cherokee, IA (KICD) -- The city of Cherokee is preparing for RAGBRAI with a week long line of activities.

RAGBRAI officially comes to town on July 22nd, but during the week leading up to the arrival of thousands of participants, Cherokee has big plans to prepare.

Julie Kent is with the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce. She says the town has really stepped up to welcome RAGBRAI participants...



Kent says each day of the week leading to the riders arrival, they're wanting residents and retailers to spend each day preparing...



On the 22nd, Kent says there will be entertainment for all the RAGBRAI group, as well as local residents...



One big plus for the town and it's residents, is that this is not the first time RAGBRAI has gone through Cherokee...



Kent goes on to mention that a lot of volunteers have steped up to make the event go as smooth as possible...

Kent says the Cherokee theme for the RAGBRAI event is "Saddle Up And Ride", so everything will have a western flavor to it.
