Ocheyedan Accident

Ocheyedan, IA (KICD) -- Details are released in a February accident.

The Osceola County Sheriffs Office says the accident happened in the early morning hours of February 24th, on 230th Street, 3 miles southwest of Ocheyedan.   25-year old William Reuter of Melvin was driving a 1991 Dodge W250 eastbound, and met a westbound 1995 Chevy, driven by 28-year old Gabriel Hall of Sheldon.

Reuter intentionally swerved into the Chevy, colliding in the westbound lane.  It was determined Reuter didnt want the occupants of the vehicle entering his property, due to family members in the house.

The Chevy left skid marks approximately 100' to avoid collision. The front ends of both vehicles became entangled in the collision. Reuter went into reverse zig-zagging to try to seperate the vehicles, which failed.  Both vehicles ended up in the north ditch.

There were possible minor injuries in the accident.  . Reuter was cited for reckless driving. Hall was cited for no driver license, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal mischief and open container.
