The Pocahontas County Sheriffs Office was called Tuesday to a fight at a rural Laurens residence. It's reported 37-year old Mitchell Nehring entered an occupied shop area, and committed assault on the property owner, trying to stab him with a screwdriver. Nehring also caused damage to the shop.
Nehring then fled from the scene before deputies arrived, but was found in Laurens. He was arrested on multiple charges including 1st Degree Burglary, a class B Felony, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Mischief, and Public Intoxication.
Assisting in the incident was the Laurens and Pocahontas Police Departments.
