Memorial Day Helpers Needed



Spencer, IA (KICD)--The 48th annual Spencer Memorial Day Program and Avenue of Flags needs a bit of help from the public.

Event Organizer Barb Dean says they are looking for volunteers to show up at Northlawn Cemetery at 6:00 p.m. Thursday and work until dark before heading to Riverside Cemetery.  Helpers are then asked to show up at Riverside at 6:00 Friday night to finish up preparation for Monday.



The 1382 flags will be put up at 7:00 on Memorial Day at both cemeteries and then taken down at 7:00 p.m. Monday night.



Monday's Memorial Day program kicks off with a parade which will start at the Clay County Administration building at 9:30 and proceeds to RIverside Cemetery where the official program starts at 10:00.  KICD News will have a more detailed program preview later this week.
