Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--A Jackson woman was taken to the hospital following a late Tuesday morning accident.
Spirit Lake Police say 51-year-old Margaret Lewis was heading west on Highways 9 and 71 at Peoria Avenue when her 2005 Chevy Equinox collided with the back of a 2000 Chevy van driven by 21-year-old Austin Higgins of Spencer, who was stopped for a red light.
Police noted that Lewis appeared to have suffered from a medical condition . She was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare by their ambulance crew.
The accident occurred at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday.
Sarasota, FL (DCN-KICD)--The founder of the Wilson Resource Center in Arnolds Park has pleaded no contest to a pair of felony counts in connection to a Florida sting operation to protect children from online predators.
The Dickinson County News reports that 49-year-old Frederick Joseph Wilson pled guilty last week in Sarasota County to charges of Use of Computer to Seduce, Solicit or Entice a Child to Commit Sex Acts and Travel to Seduce, Solicit or Entice a Child to Commit Sex Acts.
Wilson was one of 31 individuals arrested as a part of "Operation Intercept last May. He is currently serving five years in Sarasota County jail.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A Storm Lake man was arrested Tuesday for stealing from a home.
Storm Lake Police took a report of a theft which occurred in November of 2012 earlier this year. Police were told that approximately $1,000.00 in property was stolen from the residence. Police conducted an investigation and allege that 22-year-old Luis Cervantes-Flores had taken the property as he believed the victim owed him money.
Following an investigation police located Cervantes-Flores on Tuesday and arrested him on a class D felony count of 2nd degree theft. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
Spencer, IA (KICD)--A Spencer woman was arrested for assaulting a peace officer on Tuesday morning.
58-year-old Deborah Pansullo was transported to the police department, processed, and turned over to the Clay County jail.
Boyden, IA (KICD)--The Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of a burglary in Boyden.
Late Tuesday morning authorities were called to a residence on Sherman Street where the burglary took place. Once inside the residence, the perpetrator(s) damaged the walls, doors, mirrors and personal property of the occupant.
