Spencer, IA (KICD)--The Clay County Sheriff is looking into a Friday evening hit and run.

Shortly before 10:00 p.m. 47-year-old Jarrett Valen of Spirit Lake was heading north in the 3300 mile of Clay County Road N-14. Valen's 200 Saab was sideswiped by a vehicle coming in the opposite direction that crossed the center line and fled the scene.

It is believed that the suspect vehicle may have been a red truck with duals.

Any information on this incident should be passed along to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A Storm Lake man leads Storm Lake Police on a downtown chase.

Shortly after 8:00 Sunday morning Police attempted to pull over 29-year-old Robert Baccam who failed to yield and led police on a chase through downtown at approximately 40 miles per hour. Baccam was eventually stopped in the parking lot of the Buena Vista county Sheriffs Office where police cars boxed him in. Officers converged on the vehicle at which time they allege Baccam struggled with officers but was taken to the ground and subdued. Baccam received minor injuries to his face and ribs in the struggle

Police allege that Baccam was under the influence of methamphetamine following an evaluation by their Drug Recognition Expert.

Charges on file include OWI 3rd Offense, Driving While Barred, Eluding Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, Speeding, and Interference With Official Acts. Baccam was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on an $8,900.00 cash bond.

After booking at the jail Baccam became medically unstable at the jail and was transferred to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for evaluation. He was treated and later transferred to a medical facility in Sioux City.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--An Aurelia man is jailed on drug charges following a Friday evening traffic stop by Storm Lake Police.

After investigation 19-year-old Matthew Blakelee was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,300 cash bond.

Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--Drug charges are filed Friday by Spirit Lake Police.

Acting on a tip Police investigated ann obtained a search warrant at the home of 23-year-old Joshua Mitchell. Suspected marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia were located leading to possession charges of both filed against Mitchell.

Mitchell was booked into Dickinson County.

Rock Rapids, IA (KICD)--Two sustain serious injuries in an early Saturday evening mishap.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office says shortly before 6:00 22-year-old Zachary Vos of Sioux Falls was driving a 2006 Chevy Impala eastbound on Highway 9. 17-year-old Laura Erdman of Lismore, Minnesota was traveling in the opposite direction. Vos crossed the centerline and both vehicles collided head on in the west bound lane.

Vos and Erdman were taken to Sanford Sioux Falls with serious injuries.

The Iowa State Patrol, Rock Rapids Fire and Rescue, Scottys Wrecker Service, Lyon County Ambulance and Sanford Life Flight assisted.
