Estherville, IA (KICD)--An alcohol induced accident near the west end of Fort Defiance State Park take place shortly before 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The initial report to the Emmet County Sheriff noted smoke coming from a vehicle that struck a tree. Estherville Police were called on scene and it was determined that 20-year-old Breanna Seggerman of Omaha went off road in a 2002 Volkswagon, hit a tree, and rolled.
A passenger, 24-year-old Nicholas Hemphill of Lake Park, was taken to Avera Holy Family Care by Estherville Ambulance with minor injuries.
Seggerman was arrested to OWI 2nd offense and cited for having an open container and possession of alcohol under the legal age. She was held in Emmet County jail.
The Estherville Fire Department assisted on scene.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--An Alta man is sentenced to 50 years in prison.
52-year-old Robert Hoffard was sentenced Monday in Buena Vista County District Court on five class C felony county of 3rd degree sexual abuse. Five identical charges and two class B felony counts of felony sex abuse were thrown out as part of a plea deal.
Hoffard was alleged to have committed numerous sex acts with a child under the age of 16.
Everly, IA (KICD)--A Spencer man wanted out of O’Brien County in connection to a domestic assault investigation faces and additional charge.
A Clay County Deputy went to an Everly home to located 23-year-old Kevin Vail. He was found to have a controlled substance in his possession and was subsequently booked into Clay County jail. The O'Brien County charges are pending.
The Iowa State Patrol assisted.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--An Early man wanted out of Carroll County is located during a Storm Lake traffic stop.
19-year-old Kenneth Hodge has charges of Failure to Appear in Court reference Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree and Failure to Appear in Court reference Possession of Marijuana in his name.
Hodge was arrested without incident and booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $26,000 cash bond.
