Spencer, IA (KICD)--Drug charges are filed following a late Friday evening traffic stop by the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
A passenger, 21-year-old Jesse Partlow of Spencer initially admitted to possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A search of his backpack turned up 45.9 grams of marijuana packaged in several baggies, packaging material, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia, and a pill believed to be ecstasy.
Upon further investigation, the driver, a 17-year-old juvenile female from Spencer, along with a 15-year-old female from Spencer and 15-year-old male from Sioux Rapids were found to have been using marijuana prior to the stop. All were arrested and a small quantity of marijuana was located in the vehicle.
Partlow was charged with a class B felony count of Distribution of Marijuana to a Person Under Age of 18, class D felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver, a drug tax stamp violation and misdemeanor charges of possession of ecstasy and drug paraphernalia. Partlow was held to appear before the magistrate.
The juveniles were all cited into juvenile court for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. The 17-year-old was additionally cited for Underage Tobacco Possession. All were cited into juvenile court and released to their parents.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Storm Lake Police deal with a string of incidents involving three area men.
Late Saturday afternoon authorities were called to Verizon Wireless. The reporting party told authorities was in the store with his ex-wife when his ex-wife’s estranged husband arrived and allegedly attempted to start a fight with him. The reporting party called 911 and the suspect, identified as 26-year-old William Reyes of Storm Lake, fled from the scene. He wa arrested at Malarkey's night club early Sunday for disorderly conduct.
On sunday night a hit and run report came into Police. He says a truck occupied by three men began to tail him on East Lakeshore Drive at a very close distance. When he turned on a side street to avoid the truck, the vehicle followed him and allegedly pulled along side of him and the occupants began yelling and threatening him. When the reporting party attempted to drive away the suspect vehicle rammed his vehicle and then fled from the scene.
One of the occupants was William Reyes. The driver was identified as 19-year-old Eric Gutierrez Hernandez of Sibley and the second passenger was identified as 22-year-old Joel Rodriguez of Storm Lake. Those three men were then allegedly a part of a disturbance where they went to a man's home and attempted to fight him. They then fled from the scene.
Rodriguez and Reyes were later located and arrested on charges of Rioting, Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal Trespass. They were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,300.00 cash bond each.
Police are still searching for Hernandez.
No injuries were reported.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Two from Storm Lake man are arrested for stealing video game related equipment.
Storm Lake Police reviewed security video of the alleged theft at Wal-Mart Sunday morning. Following an investigation police identified and located 18-year-old Jose Jimenez-Mondragon and a 12-year-old male.
Mondragon was charged Driving While Barred and 5th Degree Theft. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $5,300 cash bond.
Police charged the 12-year-old with 5th Degree theft and Interference With Official Acts after he reportedly lied to police. He was processed and released to his parents pending a court date in Juvenile Court.
Hull, IA (KICD)--A Saturday night traffic stop in Hull leads to drug charges against two.
After investigation 21-year-old Tyler Kruse of Viborg, South Dakota was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, both class D felonies, possession of drug paraphernalia, an open container violation, and speeding.
A passenger, 21-year-old Walter Anderson of Ocheyedan was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and having an open container.
The Iowa State Patrol assisted.
Sibley, IA (KICD)--A Worthington man is arrested following investiation into a complaint about an erratic driver heading southbound on Hwy 60, from 100th Street in rural Osceola County on Saturday.
23-year-old Javier Michael Granados was subsequently arrested on a class D felony charge os OWI 3rd offense and was cited for having an open container and speeding.
Granados was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $5,300 cash bond.
