Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Storm Lake Police are asking for help from the public in solving a burglary and assault which occurred early this (Thursday) morning.
Shortly after midnight Police were called out to 606 ½ Lake Avenue and met with a man who stated that he had heard a sound outside of his apartment door. When he opened the door he observed two black males standing near his front door. One of them reportedly punched the victim in the face and then entered the victim’s apartment and continued to assault him. The victim was able to fight off the suspect at which time both suspects fled from the scene.
The victim sustained minor injuries including a small laceration to his arm that he believed occurred when one of the suspects cut him with a knife.
Both of the suspects are around 6'3" and are approximately 20 years of age. One has corn row braided hair and a scar on his face. The other suspect was wearing a black sweater.
Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities immediately.
Hull, IA (KICD)--A Hull woman was injured after a steel pipe went through her window.
Shortly after 6:00 a.m. Tuesday 23-year-old Rebekah Jasmer was driving a 1994 Chevrolet K1500 pickup southbound on Hickory Avenue, one mile north of Hull. Jasmer was following a pickup with the tailgate down that was loaded with scrap steel. The truck drifted, swerved back to the left and lost several pieces of the load. A steel pipe struck the windshield of Jasmer’s vehicle, narrowly missing her.
Jasmer was transported to the Sioux Center Hospital by Hull Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.
The pickup, described as being a late model Ford, continued driving southbound. The color of the pickup is unknown.
Anyone with information about the Ford pickup that was transporting the steel is asked to contact the Sioux County Sheriff's Office
Sibley, IA (KICD)--A Sioux Falls man was arrested following a Saturday traffic stop northwest of Sibley.
An Osceola County Deputy placed 39-year-old Dean Sargent under arrest on a class D felony count of OWI 3rd Offense, 2 counts each of Child Endangerment and of Failing to Secure a Child, Failure to Prove Security Against Liability, and Failure to Have a Valid Driver's License.
Sargent is being held in the Osceola County jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Storm Lake Police responded to a report of a man trying to kill a woman early Wednesday evening.Upon arrival Police determined that a woman had allegedly been assaulted by her husband and sustained injuries. Police further allege that 38-year-old Lion Agwa attempted to flee out of the north door of the apartment complex but was subdued by responding officers.
The victim received injuries to her face and arms but did not require medical attention.
Following an investigation police charged Agwa with Domestic Assault Causing Injury. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
