37-year-old Marcy Ross of Estherville then traveled to Fareway at which time officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Ross ignored orders to stop and went inside the store and was placed under arrest after refusing to cooperate with authorities.
Ross was subsequently arrested on charges of OWI 1st offense, serious and aggravated assault on a peace officer, and interference with official acts causing injury. Ross made an initial appearance and remains held in Emmet County jail on a $21,450 cash or surety bond.
Emmet County Deputies assisted.
Rock Valley, IA (KICD) -- A Rock Valley teen is arrested on a felony charge.
On Tuesday, Rock Valley Police arrested 19-year old Whitney Statema, after an investigation. Statema was charged with 3rd degree Sexual Abuse, a class C felony.
Hull, IA (KICD)--Authorities are investigating a hit and run.
The Sioux County Sheriff's Office says sometime during the morning hours on Tuesday ared Toyota SUV or pick-up truck was driving southbound on Highway 75, two miles northwest of Hull. The vehicle apparently lost control, entered the east ditch of Highway 75 where it struck two fence poles before leaving the area.
The Toyota would likely have damage to the rear andpossible damage to the driver side of the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Additional charges have been filed against a Storm Lake man who was arrested last month.
Police had previously arrested 34-year-old Benigno Mauro Alcantara-Hernandez on charges of Forgery, Identity Theft and Possession of an Offensive Weapon. Subsequently Police determined that Hernandez on three occasions between September of 2011 and July of 2012 allegedly provided law enforcement with false information during traffic stops to conceal that he was in the country illegally.
On Thursday Police additionally charged Hernandez with 3 counts of Tampering With Records. Hernandez, who was already being held in the Buena Vista County Jail, remains held on an $11,000 cash bond and a hold issued by the US Immigration and Customs Service .
Sioux Center, IA (KICD) -- Three people were arrested after a search warrant execution.
Around 1-am Wednesday, the Sioux County Sheriffs Office executed the search warrant at a residence, two miles west of Sioux Center. Upon further investigation, it was determined the occupants were growing marijuana at the location.
26-year old Mark Pruisman and 26-year old Justin DeBondt, both of Sioux Center, along with 36-year old Melissa Berg of Roberts, Wisconsin were all arrested and charged with Manufacturing Marijuana, Child Endangerment, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.
A 9-year old child at the residence was not injured.
Orange City, IA (KICD)--A pair from Orange City were jailed following a Tuesday evening search by the Sioux County Deputies and Orange City Police.
Following the search 27-year-old David Miedema was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment as a 15-month-old child was present. 24-year-old Alyssa McConnel was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The child was unharmed.
