The Clay County Sheriff's Office says 24-year-old Emily Brown was traveling south in the 4400 mile of 170th Avenue shortly before 9:00 Monday evening. Brown was reaching for something she dropped and she drove onto the west shoulder with her passenger side tires. She tried to get the 1999 Chevy Malibu back onto the roadway and overcorrected to the east causing the car to slide approximately 180 degrees across the north bound lane. Brown then hit the east shoulder, entered the ditch and rolled approximately one time coming to rest on its wheels facing northeast in a bean field.
Spencer, IA (KICD) -- A Spencer man facing felony charges of 2nd degree sexual abuse and incest will be arraigned on December 17th.
23-year old Caleb Stoever was arrested recently following a joint investigation by the Clay County Sheriffs Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
Alta, IA (KICD)--A trio of arrests have been made in connection to a drug investigation.
In June the Buena Vista County Sheriff's Office confiscated a number of suspected controlled substances from an Alta home that were sent the the Iowa DCI lab for testing.
Those arrested in connection include 23-year-old Michael Martens of Albert City on a class D felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and drug paraphernalia; 22-year-old Kayla Wadsley was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia; and 19-year-old Kevin Bergen of Alta was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
All three were booked into Buena Vista County jail with Martens held on a $5,000 bond and the others held on a $1,000 bond.
Spencer, IA (KICD)--Clay County Deputies look into an anonymous report of two women fighting at a Spencer home.
Upon arrival and investigation 41-year-old Shawn Pattison was located in the residence and was found to have an arrest warrant out of Palo Alto County on a class D felony charge of 3rd degree burglary.
29-year-old Sarah Kehoe was found to have assaulted her sister and was subsequently arrested for Domestic Abuse Assault.
Pattison was later turned over to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office. Kehoe was was held to appear before the magistrate.
Sibley, IA (KICD)--A Spirit Lake man sustains possible injuries in a mishap this (Wednesday) morning.
The Osceola County Sheriff says 29-year-old Jeremiah Davis was driving a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, southbound on NW Boulevard approaching the on ramp to exit 48 of Highway 60 northbound and reached in the back seat of the vehicle to retrieve a sweatshirt. Davis did not see the curve ahead and left the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn several times before coming to rest on the driver’s side.
Davis was given a citation for Failure to Maintain Control and Failure to Prove Security against Liability. He sustained possible injuries but refused medical attention at the scene.
Sanborn, IA (KICD)--A Hartley man is jailed on numerous charges following a Friday afternoon traffic stop by Sanborn Police.
Following the noon hour stop 49-year-old Tony Heine was arrested for possession of marijuana 3rd or subsequent offense and drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, driving with a suspended license, driving while revoked, and having an open container.
Heine was booked into O'Brien County jail and was released Friday evening after posting bail.
Sibley, IA (KICD)--Details have been released from a mishap last Tuesday by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
At 7:40 a.m. 63-year-old Mary Henning of Ashton was heading east on Johannes Street, west of Highway 60, in a 2007 Pontiac G6. Henning experienced a medical condition causing a loss of consciousness at which time she lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch.
Henning was transported to the Osceola Community Hospital for an evaluation. She was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.Ashton Fire and Rescue and Sibley Ambulance assisted on scene.
