Spencer, IA: (Jul 06, 2012) - Producers who lose livestock because of the extreme heat should keep records of their losses.
The Livestock Indemnity Program, which helped cover livestock producers’ losses last year, was allowed to lapse by Congress last year. Even though it is not in effect now, producers should continue to document livestock losses, according to Angie Christian with the Kossuth County Farm Service Agency.
Angie Christian is County Executive Director for the Kossuth County Farm Service Agency.
