Jackson County Accident



Jackson, MN (KICD) -- A woman and child were rescued following a Wednesday afternoon accident.

The Jackson County Sheriffs Office says the accident occurred south of Clear Lake. A vehicle heading south lost control on 490th Avenue, entered the east ditch and struck a powerline pole. The pole snapped and fell onto the vehicle trapping a woman and a child inside.

Three Deputies, a State Trooper, Jackson Firefighters and Ambulance personnel waited while lineman from Federal Rural Electric grounded the wires. They then moved in to remove the woman and child from the vehicle, which was entangled in the lines.
Jackson firefighters carried the child and escorted the woman to safety from the scene. No injuries were reported.
