Sioux City, IA (KICD)--A Storm Lake man pleads guilty to possessing three firearms as a convicted felon.
28-year-old Kou Vue admitted in Sioux City Federal Court that he possessed three firearms and ammunition. Vue had handled, claimed ownership of, showed off to friends, and fired these weapons in Storm Lake, Cherokee, and Spencer. He was previously convicted of Intermediate Battery Resulting in Substantial Bodily Harm in Wisconsin in 2003.
Vue’s possession was discovered when law enforcement officers executed a consent search at Vue’s home to recover firearms after his wife reported to Storm Lake Police Officers that Vue had endangered her children and that there were several firearms in the residence.
Vue faces a possible maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and 3 years of supervised release following any imprisonment.
The Buena Vista County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation.
