Estherville Solider Killed

Kabul, Afghanistan (KICD-MTN)--An Estherville soldier was one of five killed in a helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan on Monday.

Funeral arrangements for Sgt. Steve Blass are currently pending at the Henry-Olsen Funeral Home of Estherville.

The crash is being blamed on bad weather. The International Security Assistance Force says initial reports indicate there was no enemy activity in the area at the time of Monday's crash.

The U.S. Department of Defense has not released any additional details as of this time.
