More than $26,000 dollars have been injected back into the Estherville economy thanks to the Estherville Bucks program. Stephanie Neppl, Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, says most of the communities businesses are involved with the program...
Neppl said the 2012 Chamber Bucks purchased more than doubled the amount purchased in 2011...
She attributes the increase to simple communication about the program, as $20,000 of the amount was sold in November and December, after releases and emails were sent to chamber members to remind them that the bucks were there to use.
Neppl says the Estherville Chamber members are looking to carry the momentum into and through 2013.
The bucks are available all year round, and can be used at participating Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce members, and they work just like cash so there is no extra step for shoppers or the businesses.
