Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--A Republican candidate is chosen to appear on the general election ballot for Dickinson County Recorder.

Ann Ditsworth was chosen this weekend during a special meeting of the Dickinson County Republican Party.



Ditsworth, who has spent the majority of her life in DIckinson County, is hoping to show an example for the next generation.



The former director of the Okoboji Foundation will look to bring a focus on customer service and collaboration to the job.



There are no other candidates on the ballot with the first date to officially file being August 3rd.  A petition is being floated around the county which would seek to combine the Auditor and Recorder's positions.

The opening was created when longtime Recorder Jan Bortscheller retired earlier this Summer.
