Spencer, IA (KICD)---A snow covered road contributed to a two car accident Sunday morning around 8:20.
Clay County deputies say they -- along with State Troopers, Spencer Police, Spencer and Royal fire and rescue crews -- were all called to 410th Street and Highay 71.
Fifty five year old Diana Stevens-Stone from Sioux Rapids was going south on Highway 71 in her car. The car's wheels went off the road and onto the shoulder. Stone tried to turn the car back onto the highway but lost control of the vehicle on the snowy road.
Her car slid sideways into the path of a car driven by 71 year old Victor Drenth -- also from Sioux Rapids.
Stone was pinned in her car and had to be extricated. Stone, Drenth and Shirley Drenth -- a passenger in the Drenth car -- were all taken to the Spencer Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
Officers say charges are pending.
