Clay Absentee Voting



Spencer, IA (KICD)--Absentee voting has been open for a couple of weeks now in Iowa.

Clay County Auditor Marge Pitts says the first step one must take to cast an absentee ballot is to make a written request.

All absentee ballots are counted on election day.

Pitts reminds residents that Clay County has purchased voting machines.

At least 85 precinct officials in Clay County will start their training one week from today.

Locally, the Clay County Auditor's Office will hold special hours on Saturdays on October 27th from 8-5 and November 3rd from 9-5.  The actual general election is slated for Tuesday November 6th.

Anyone wishing to obtain additional voting information may contact their respective County Auditor's office.
