Spencer, IA: (May 23, 2012) - The top beef-eating team at Tuesday’s beef eating contest was Co-Products of Spencer. Mark Johnson and Todd Irgens consumed 5.21 pounds of steak in thirty minutes, edging the Menard’s team of Tiny Miller and Nick Owens, who ate 5.03 pounds. Co-Products held on the the championship won at last year's contest.
 
In all, fourteen teams competed. The event was sponsored by the Clay County Regional Events Center and the Clay County Cattlemen in observance of "May, Beef Month."
