Back together? Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez hold hands at AMAs

Justin Bieber's romance with Selena Gomez appeared to be back on at the American Music Awards on Sunday night - the young stars were spotted holding hands at the prizegiving.

The "Boyfriend" hitmaker was the toast of the Los Angeles ceremony after scooping three trophies, including Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album and Artist of the Year.

And while it was his mum Pattie Mallette who sat by his side throughout the show, Gomez was on hand to help him celebrate his wins at the end of the night, according to E! Online gossip reporter Marc Malkin.

Malkin was tweeting live from the AMAs at the Nokia Theatre, and told his followers, "Guess who apparently showed up at the end of the AMAs... Selena Gomez. She was spotted backstage holding hands with... Justin Bieber!"

Bieber was rumoured to have called time on his relationship with the Disney star earlier this month, but they sparked rumors of a reconciliation when they arrived at a hotel together in L.A. last week
