Attempted Child Luring



Spencer, IA (KICD)--Add Spencer Police to the list of local law enforcement agencies on the lookout for an older man who attempted to lure children into his van.

At 12:43 on Tuesday Police were notified of an older white man in a white van in his late 60's or early 70's  who tried to make contact with a pair of young students at an elementary school playground.  The man left as a pair of teacher's aides were on the grounds.  Police have been unable to locate the white van.

In the meantime authorities are asking parents to educate their children not to talk to strangers or get in their vehicle.

A number of similar reports have occurred in the region in the past couple of weeks.

If you run across the man or vehicle contact law enforcement immediately .
