Sioux City, IA (KICD)--Two people from Algona will spend time in prison on drug convictions.
The U. S. Attorney's office says 38 year old Tammy Schealler was sentenced to 20 years in prison. She pled guilty to conspiracy to make more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. Schealler has two previous felony convictions in Kossuth County, Iowa and a 5th Degree controlled substance crime in Martin County, Minnesota.
Thirty nine year old Jeffrey Nelson got a 46 month sentence on the same charge.
Both admitted their involvement in making at least 15 hundred grams of meth.
Schealler will have supervised release for 10 years after getting out of prison and Nelson will have 5 years. Federal prisoners are not eligible for parole.
Sibley, IA(KICD)--A Sibley man lands a year in jail on a domestic abuse charge.
27-year-old Jedd Julius pled guilty this week in Osceola County District Court to a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury. On May 3 Julius and a female victim got into an argument at their residence in Sibley. Julius then backhanded the victim on the mouth, knocking out four of her top front teeth causing serious injury.
Julius is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 1 year, with all time suspended except for 90 days and placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years. Court costs, a fine of nearly $2,400, treatment, and a no contact order were also ordered.
Harris, IA (KICD)--A Harris man is sentenced in Osceola County District Court Friday after pleading guilty to Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury.
65-year-old Raymond Tryon is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 30 days, with 27 days suspended and placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years.
On July 3rd the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received information about an 83-year-old woman that had been beaten about the face and neck by her son in Harris, Iowa. Following an investigation, Osceola County Deputies arrested Raymond Tryon for Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury and transported to the Osceola County Jail for processing.
Tryon shall successfully complete a Domestic Abuse Intervention Program, and will undergo a Mental Health Evaluation and comply with the treatment recommendations.
