Area Arrests



Spencer, IA (KICD)--An Estherville man has been cited for Dissemination and Exhibition of Obscene Material to a Minor.

In late December the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint that 26-year-old Brady Wee disseminated an obscene photo to a 15-year-old juvenile female from Arnolds Park. Last week Wee admitted to the violation and met with a Deputy after which he was taken into custody.

Wee was cited and released.

Peterson, IA (KICD)--A 16-year-old wanted runaway male was caught Friday evening following an anonymous tip.

At approximately 11:15 the Clay County Sheriff's Office received a report of the runaway teen staying at a home in Peterson. The Deputy was allowed to enter the residence and found the boy climbing out of the attic.

The juvenile was placed under arrest and was transported to the Clay County Jail where he was held for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on an arrest warrant for a probation violation.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Storm Lake Police were called out shortly after 4:30 Sunday morning in reference to a fight in progress involving eight or more people.

Upon arrival at the intersection of East 1st Street and Kenzy Street the crowd had dispersed and 18-year-old Khajuan Harris of Storm Lake was found on the ground suffering from abrasions to his face. Harris was taken to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center where he was treated and later released to police. He was later booked into Buena Vista County jail for disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Bond was set at $600 cash.

A second person allegedly involved in the scuffle, 20-year-old Kevin Yang of Storm Lake, was later located. As police took Yang into custody he allegedly resisted officers but was subdued. Yang was also displaying abrasions which occurred during the fight in the street.

Following an investigation police charged Yang with disorderly conduct, interference with official acts and possession of alcohol. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $900 cash bond.

Storm Lake Police are asking anyone with information on the disturbance to contact them. The incident remains under investigation and additional arrests are anticipated as several fled the scene prior to arrival of Police.

Hospers, IA (KICD)--Two from Hospers are jailed on drug charges over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning Sioux County Deputies arrested 19-year-old Brandon Lund and 20-year-old Brett Stark for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

The arrests stemmed from an investigation that led to the execution of a search warrant on Friday at a residence in Hospers.

Inwood, IA (KICD)--A Sioux Falls Man was arrested Saturday on several outstanding warrants in Lyon county.

46-year-old Charles Long He is accused of committing a burglary at Wiersma construction in Inwood on November 20th. Long was taken into custody on a class D felony charge of 3rd degree burglary and two counts of possession of stolen property for tools and a and a lawn sprayer he stole.

Long is being held in the Lyon County Jail with no bond due to a probation violation.
