Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--An out of control Missouri man is jailed by Storm Lake Police Monday evening.
Upon arrival at the Sail Inn witness told Police that 43-year-old Kevin Larose of Urbana was being belligerent to other motel patrons and he allegedly slapped one man and struck another with a belt. Several witnesses subdued Larose and escorted him to his motel room. A short time later Larose exited his motel room and began yelling, hitting himself in the head and striking his head against fixed objects.
Larose sustained several lacerations to his head, face and arms and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene to examine him however he refused medical treatment.
Following an investigation police charged Larose with 2 counts of Assault, Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,200 cash bond.
No other injuries were reported.
Rock Rapids, IA (RI)--A Wisconsin man who's now jailed in northwest Iowa may be responsible for at least 25 burglaries in Iowa and Minnesota since early June.
Forty-nine-year-old Joseph Detaege of Appleton, Wisconsin, is facing several charges of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief. During the early morning hours on Sunday, a Hawarden police officer who was on patrol in Ireton noticed glass broken out of the door at the Ireton Co-op. The officer discovered Detaege still inside the office. After officers surrounded the building, Detaege surrendered without incident. Police found a large amount of cash inside his vehicle, along with a map of Iowa which highlighted several communties and routes. Authorities believe Detaege is responsible for burglaries in Ireton, Alton, Granville, Sioux Center, and Hull, as well as others in Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola and Cherokee counties.
Hospers, IA (KICD)--An Alton man is arrested after an accident is caused by checking his text messages.
The mishap took place on 400th Street near Hospers shortly after 8:00 Sunday evening. As citizens tried to check on the driver, 20-year-old Riley Full, he fled the scene. Marijuana was later located in Full's vehicle.
Full has been charged with Possession of Marijuana, Use of an electronic device while driving, failure to maintain control, and leaving the scene of an accident.
