Ruthven, IA (KICD) -- A Spencer man is charged after leaving the scene of a single vehicle accident.
At 12:39 Shortly after midnight Tuesday, the Clay County Sheriffs Office was dispatched to 310th Street and 320th Avenue, south of Lost Island.
A Deputy came upon an accident scene in the 3100 block of 340th Avenue, and found a 2008 Ford F-250 pickup, resting on it's side, with no occupants. It was determined the Ford was being driven north on 340th Avenue, then failed to negotiate the curve , entering the ditch and rolling.
Further investigation determined 41-year old Peter Crew was the driver of the truck , which is owned by Spencer Agronomy Services Inc, and had left the scene after the accident.
It was also determined Crew made a 911 call, and reoprted the vehicle was stolen. Crew was located at his residence, 3230 260th Avenue, and was arrested and charged with Failure To Maintain Control, Failure To Report An Accident, Interference With Official Acts, and False Report To Public Safety Entities.
The pickup received approximately $50,000 in damage, and was considered a total loss.
The Iowa State Patrol assisted in the incident.
Spencer, IA (KICD)--The Clay County Sheriff's Office arrests two from Spencer in connection to a Monday evening domestic disturbance complaint.
While investigating 28-year-old Tyler Peters left the residence driving in a reckless manner. He was later arrested for reckless and careless driving.
Upon further investigation 32-year-old Ryan Peters was charged with a class D felony county of domestic abuse assault.
Ryan Peters was held to appear before the magistrate. Tyler Peters was released from Clay County jail after posting a $300 cash bond.
