Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Icy road conditions lead a car driven by an Ankeny man into a creek.

Buena Vista County Sheriff Gary Launderville says they were called to a one vehicle rollover which had occurred one half mile south of the south junction of Highway 7 and 71 on Highway 71 shortly before 9:00 a.m. Monday. it was determined that a single vehicle had been northbound on Highway 71 and had lost control on the very icy roadway conditions and had entered the east ditch sliding sideways. After entering the ditch the vehicle then flipped over and landed on its top in the bottom of the creek running underneath 71. The car broke through the ice and was submerged into the water. A pair of individuals stopped to help and were able to then extricate the driver and his passenger from the cab of the vehicle that was upside down in the water.

The driver, 29-year-old Jesus Alvarado of Ankeny, and and his passenger were then taken up to the road way where another vehicle had stopped and was used as a place for warm shelter until ambulance arrived. Both were taken to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. State Troopers and the Iowa DOT assisted on scene .

Primghar, IA (KICD)--A late Sunday evening accident in O'Brien County leads to minor injuries to a Primghar teen.

The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office says 16-year-old Jonathan Howe was westbound on 390th Street shortly before 11:00 P.M. Howe slowed down and lost control due to icy road conditions. The 1998 Mercury Villager van entered the South ditch and struck a 911 sign pole, and impacted the hard snow pack.

The van received $2,500 in damage
