Spencer, IA (KICD)--A Saturday afternoon one pickup accident lands a Linn Grove woman in the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says the mishap took place on 420th Street in Clay County west of 510th Avenue at 3:16 p.m. 18-year-old Brooke Richards was heading west on 420th Street when she lost control of a 2000 Ford Pickup at a curve. The truck rolled before coming to rest on its wheels.
Richards was taken by Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Ambulance to the Spencer Hospital with non specified injuries.
Buena Vista County Sheriff's Officers and the Iowa DNR assisted.
Hull, IA (KICD)--Four are injured in a SUV versus car accident in Sioux County Thursday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says 35-year-old Jessica Kooiker of Boyden was heading south on Highway 75 and was turning east on to Highway 18 in a 2007 Chevy Suburban. She was hit by a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville on the passenger side which was heading north on 18. The car was driven by 38-year-old Matthew Mousel of Rock Valley.
Kooiker, cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn, along with 7 and 11-year-old Craig and Zachary Kooiker, were taken to the Sioux Center Hospital by Hull Ambulance. Mousel was taken to Rock Valley Hospital by Sioux Center Ambulance.
Damage estimates were $30,000 for the Suburban and $2,000 for the Bonneville.
The accident took place shortly before 5:00 Thursday afternoon.
Boyden, IA (KICD)--An Inwood man is injured in a car versus pickup accident just before 5:30 Friday evening.
The Sioux County Sheriff's Office says the accident occurred at the intersection of Colfax Street and Highway 18 in Boyden. 31-year-old Aaron Cleveringa of Spencer, South Dakota was heading east on 18 in a 2000 Cadillac Deville and was attempting to make a left turn onto Colfax. 58-year-old Howard Vanmuyden was driving a 1990 Dodge Dakota pickup westbound on 18 when he struck Cleveringa.
Vanmuyden was taken to the Sheldon Hospital by the Boyden ambulance.
Cleveringa was cited for failure to yield upon left turn.
Cleveringa’s vehicle received approximately $3,500 damage while Vanmuyden’s vehicle received approximately $3,000 damage. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
West Bend, IA (KICD)--A two car accident in Palo Alto county sent two people to the hospital Thursday morning
Sheriff Dennis Goeders says a car driven by 53 year old Duane M. Brown of West Bend collided with another driven by 24 year old Ashley A. Johnson from Carroll.
The accident happened at the intersection of 535th Avenue and 475th Street. West Bend Ambulance crews, firefighters, the Emmetsburg ambulance and state troopers helped at the scene.
Both drivers were taken to the Palo Alto County hospital with unspecified injuries.
