Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--The Iowa State Patrol is still looking into a Saturday moring accident in Buena Vista County that landed an Alta man in the hospital.
18-year-old Matthew Drew was heading west on 660 when he lost control of his 1999 Mercury Cougar and went into the ditch. Drew was taken to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center by their ambulance crew.
The accident took place at 10:15 Saturday morning one half mile east of county road M-43. The Sac County Sheriff's Office and Storm Lake Police assisted.
Sioux Center, IA (KICD)--A Thursday afternoon accident near Sioux Center leads to injuries for a Remsen man.
Sioux County Sheriff's Officers says 28-year-old Benjamin TerHorst was pulling a grain trailer northbound on Highway 75 in a 2005 Peterbilt when he drove off of the roadway onto the right shoulder. As the semi approached the east side of the intersection, TerHorst corrected the path of the semi causing it to overturn onto the passenger side. The load of corn spilled onto the road and into the northeast ditch near Highway 10.
TerHorst, cited for failure to maintain control, was taken to the Sioux Center Hospital for minor injuries. The semi had a damage estimate of $20,000.
The mishap took place at 3:45 Thursday afternoon.
Ireton, IA (KICD)--Two teens are injured in a Friday afternoon accident in Sioux County just over a third of a mile west of Coolidge on 470th Street.
At 4:00 p.m. Friday 15-year-old Brooke Jockisch of Ireton was eastbound on 470th when she lost control of a 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo. The car started sliding on the roadway and went down into the south ditch where it rolled before coming to rest on the wheels. Jockisch and a passenger, 14-year-old Rachel Nilson, were able to get out of the vehicle on their own accord.
Both were taken to the Hawarden Hospital by Ireton Rescue with non-incapacitating injuries.
The car had a damage estimate of $1,200.
Sheldon, IA (KICD)--A Primghar man leads authorities on a chase Friday.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office says they joined Sheldon Police in the pursuit of 45-year-old Ricky Sohn while heading north on Highway 60 near Sheldon in the southbound lane. Sheriff's Officers put down stop sticks and Sohn was stopped after being boxed in by patrol cars on Highway 60 at A-34.
Charges of driving while intoxicated 2nd offense, eluding, reckless driving, and driving on the wrong side of a two way highway landed Sohn in the Osceola County jail. Bond was set at $3,600.
Others assisting include the Iowa State Patrol, O'Brien and Lyon County Sheriff's Offices, and the Iowa DNR.
Milford, IA (KICD)--This Dickinson County Sheriff's office has released information from a November 11th drug arrest in Milford.
22-year-old Jonathan Barber of rural Spirit Lake was arrested in the 900 block of Okoboji Avenue for public intoxication . A search turned up meth, mushrooms , and drug paraphernalia. Possession charges of all three in addition to interference with official acts landed Barber in the Dickinson County jail.
Milford Police assisted.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A wanted Storm Lake man surrenders Saturday afternoon.
26-year-old Deq Mohammed surrendered himself at the Storm Lake Police Station. He was wanted for public intoxication and violation of probation - child endangerment. Mohammed was held in Buena Vista County jail without bond.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A call from a bank in Storm Lake led to the arrest of an Arnolds Park man.
Storm Lake police say they were sent to the Meta Bank on East 5th Street shortly after 11 Friday morning. Employees thought they recognized a man who had allegedly recently defrauded a MetaBank in West Des Moines on Thursday for thousands of dollars.
