Area Accidents & Arrests

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A Chicago man who fled after arrested by Storm Lake Police nearly 10 years ago is back in custody.
Forty one year old Alejandro Eduardo Montana -- also known as Carlos Romo was arrested by Storm Lake Police in 1998. Montana was charged with second degree sexual assault. Police say he fled back to Chicago after being released from jail on bond.

Authorities in Chicago found Montana and he's back in the Buena Vista county jail pending a trial on the original charges.

Police in Storm Lake filed a count of fleeing to avoid prosecution -- which is a class D felony.

U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on Montana which means he's being held without bond.

Spencer, IA (KICD)--A Spencer teen suffers minor cuts in a one car rollover on B-24 Thursday afternoon.

Shortly before 4:30 Clay County Sheriff's Officers were called out to the 2700 block of B-24. It was found that 16-year-old Robert Hargrave was heading east when his 2001 Chevy Metro went off the north side of the road and then back to the south before entering the ditch backwards. The car then rolled over before coming to rest on it's top.

Hargrave was treated on scene by Spencer Paramedics and released to his parents. He was cited for failure to maintain control. The car had a damage estimate of $4,000.

Others assisting include a pair of citizens, Dickens Fire and Rescue and Spencer Ambulance.
