Spencer, IA (KICD)--An Arnolds Park woman suffered minor injuries following a Wednesday night OWI rollover.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to the one vehicle rollover in the 3100 mile of County Road B-63 at 11:23 p.m. After investigation 30-year-old Kimberly Petersen was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense and Failure to Maintain Control. She was booked into Clay County jail. Her 2005 Chevy Malibu was totalled.
Webb Fire and Rescue and Spencer Hospital Paramedics assisted on scene.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD) -- A Storm Lake man is arrested on felony charges.
Around 12:30 Thursday afternoon, Storm Lake Police were sent to O'Reilly Auto Parts for a person attempting to use a credit card that wasn't theirs.
Upon arrival, Police met with Jesus Ramirez, and were informed by store staff that Ramirez was using a credit card that was not his. As a result he was arrested and taken to the Police Station for questioning.
It was discovered the Name Jesus Ramirez was an alias the person was using and that he worked at Tyson Plant under the alias name. That led to a search warrant that was executed Thursday night at the man's residence.
Police found and seized birth certificates, ID cards, along with approximately $1500 in cash, a rifle and a silencer. Other documents were found that indicated the man's real name was Benigno Alcantara-Hernandez, who is 34.
He was charged with Forgery, Identity Theft, and Possession of an Offensive Weapon, all class D felonies. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $15,000 cash bond. The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency has placed a hold on Alcantara-Ramirez.
Rossie, IA (KICD)--A Rossie man was jailed Wednesday following a domestic disturbance investigation by the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
Heather Buchholz of Rossie reported that 35-year-old Corey Hofmeyer pushed her and threw an object through the window and advised Hofmeyer had firearms in the residence. Buchholz also said Hofmeyer had marijuana in the residence.
After investigation it was found Hofmeyer struck Buchholz in the face with an open hand leaving a mark. A search of the home turned up drug paraphernalia.
Hofmeyer was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was held in Clay County jail to appear before the Magistrate.
Spencer, IA (KICD)--An arrest of a Spencer woman took place shortly before 1:00 Tuesday morning.
Spencer Police charged 29-year-old Amanda Sheeler with OWI 2nd offense, Driving While Barred & Child Endangerment. She was transported to the police department, processed & placed in Clay County jail.
