Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--A Kansas man is injured in an early Saturday morning Dickinson County accident.
21-year-old Andrew Bowman of Perry was driving a 2002 Dodge Intrepid eastbound on 190th Street shortly after 1:00 a.m. Bowman failed to stop at the stop sign at M-56, went through the intersection and lost control. Bowman then went into the ditch and rolled trapping him inside with his arm pinned under the vehicle. Officers and responders on scene lifted the vehicle and freed Bowman's arm.
Bowman was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare by ambulance with incapacitating injuries.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office received assistance from Arnolds Park and Okoboji Police, Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance, Milford Rescue, and Bob's Auto Body of Milford.
Jackson, MN (KICD)--A Jackson man is injured attempting to avoid hitting a racoon.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 22-year-old Tyler Ayers was traveling on Highway 71, south of Jackson, just before 10:30 last (Sunday) evening. He attempted to avoid hitting a racoon in the roadway and laid down his 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle after losing control.
Ayers was taken to Jackson Hospital with minor injuries.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A bed wetter is arrested following an early Sunday morning episode in front of La Juanita’s.
Storm Lake Police observed 34-year-old Agustin Gonzalez exit his car and remove several blankets and other bed clothing and place them on the sidewalk in front of La Juanita’s around 2:30. Gonzalez then allegedly directed abusive statements towards a female later identified as his estranged wife and at the same time began to urinate on the pile of bedding. It is alleged that Gonzalez came to the establishment to confront his estranged wife over their recent separation and that the bedding belonged to the woman.
After investigation Police charged Gonzalez with Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Mischief and Public Urination. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $600 cash bond.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Two area men are caught smoking pot outside of Malarky’s Night Club.
Storm Lake Police allegedly noticed 21-year-old Clayton Woodke of Schaller and 18-year-old Austin Pederson of Newell attempting to light the center of a can with a lighter. The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with the occupants at which time police allege the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana. Both of those items were seized.
Both men face possession charges of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,300 cash bond each.
