Arnolds Park, IA (KICD)--No injuries are reported in a Friday afternoon basement fire in Arnolds Park.
Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire and Rescue were called to the home of Gary Walburg at 303 202nd Street just before 3:00 p.m. Firefighters were greeted by light to moderate smoke filling the basement and were able to locate the blaze with the help of Walburg in the northwest corner of the basement. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes.
Crews remained on scene for about an hour removing and extinguishing smoldering materials, investigating the cause, and evacuating smoke from the home to reduce damage. Preliminary damage is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
