'The Voice' stars Shakira, Blake Shelton struggling with accents

Colombian superstar Shakira and her fellow "The Voice" judge Blake Shelton are struggling to understand one another's heavy accents during filming for the show, according to co-star Adam Levine.

Maroon 5 frontman Levine reveals the "Hips Don't Lie" hitmaker and Usher have proved to be great additions to the upcoming fourth season of the TV hit, although the diverse judging panel has caused a few language barriers onset as pregnant Shakira's Spanish-tinged English is too difficult for Southern country boy Shelton to decipher.

He tells Ellen DeGeneres, "The only thing is Shakira and Blake have a hard time because they don't understand each other's language."

"And even though Blake is speaking English, surprisingly enough, he just kind of says, 'What are you talking about? What are you even saying? I don't know...' So they just don't understand the accents that they have."

Shakira and Usher were hired as the new judges for "The Voice" earlier this year to allow original mentors Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green time to focus on other projects once they wrap production on the live episodes of season three, which is currently airing in America.
